Terms of service

Last updated: September 2026

The service

Birr AI (birrai.tech) is an independent navigation and question-answering tool for the public documents of the National Bank of Ethiopia, the Ethiopian Securities Exchange, the Capital Market Authority, and the Ministry of Revenue. Answers are AI-generated and cite the official source documents, which we link to but never re-host. Birr AI is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official product of any of these institutions.

Not legal or compliance advice

Answers may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. Nothing in the service is legal, compliance, investment, or tax advice, and no professional relationship is created by using it. Always verify any conclusion against the cited official document before relying on it — especially for regulatory or contractual decisions.

Accounts

You may use the core service without an account as a guest. If you create an account, you are responsible for the accuracy of your email address and for keeping your credentials safe. Guest workspaces are ephemeral; converting a guest session to an account keeps your existing chats.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the service for any unlawful purpose;
  • scrape, bulk-download, or resell the service or its outputs;
  • attempt to bypass message quotas, rate limits, or access controls;
  • interfere with the service's operation or other users' experience.

Availability and limits

The service is provided on a best-effort basis with no uptime commitment. Message quotas apply (including a limited number of free guest messages) and features may change or be discontinued at any time.

Content and intellectual property

The source documents remain the property of their issuing institutions. Your questions and inputs remain yours; you grant us a limited licence to process them as needed to operate the service (see the privacy policy for how AI providers are involved).

Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (which is zero for the free service).

Changes, law, and contact

We may update these terms; continued use after a change means you accept it. These terms are governed by the laws of Ethiopia. Contact:support@birrai.tech.
